Swim Team by Johnnie Christmas is a graphic novel. It is about the main character, Bree, facing her fears of swimming. At first, Bree didn't even like pools and swimming. However, she starts to practice swimming after she gets into a swimming elective in school. Bree eventually joins the swim team and to the amazement of others, faces her fears. During her time in the swim team, Bree faces many difficulties from not being able to swim to fighting with teammates. But she eventually figures things out. I think that this book was a good book and was very easy to understand.

The Summer I Turned Pretty
by Jenny Han

This book was filled with plot twists and surprising acts, which makes this book really enjoyable to read. The main character, Isabel Conklin, and her family visit Susannah’s beach house every summer because Belly’s mom and Susannah are best friends. Belly starts off as just a “little sister” out of all the kids ( Steven, Belly’s brother, Jeremiah, and Conrad, which are Susannah’s kids). Belly had a huge blowup over the summer, but still has the same crush, Conrad. However, this year, Conrad was in a worse mood for the whole summer, because he had just broken up with his girlfriend. Throughout the book, we can see Belly falling harder for Conrad. However, towards the end of the book, she finds someone new, Cam, whom she starts dating. But she still has feelings for Conrad, who rejects her when she confronts. By the end of the book, we find out that Susannah's cancer has came back, which leaves a good cliffhanger. This romance book is perfect, and it makes readers seem as if they were Belly, and has a lot of moments we could all relate to.
