"The Wishing Spell" is the first book of "The Land Of Stories" series. It introduces twins: Alex and Conner Bailey into a fairy tale world where they meet people like Cinderella, Red Riding Hood, and Snow White. Although they meet characters they dream of seeing all their life, they can't find a way home. A frog man named Froggy gives the twins a journal about what they need to get for the wishing spell to work. The wishing spell grants a wish to the person who collects the wishing spell items. However, the Evil Queen, Snow White's stepmother, is trying to get the wishing spell item too and will try to stop the twins in anyway from getting it first than her as there is only one more time for the wishing spell to work. Read the book to find the obstacles the twins have to face and see if they finally find a way home.

The book starts in the Eastern Kingdom where Queen Sleeping Beauty and her citizens celebrate the recovery of the sleeping curse, when the kingdom’s greatest fear, the Enchantress, returned. When I read this part of the story, I was both terrified and curious about what the Enchantress's goal was. Later on, the Enchantress kidnaps Alex and Conner’s mom, and the twins try to find a way to defeat the Enchantress. They find a thing called the Wand Of Wonderment which could make anyone holding it invincible. But, they have numerous obstacles in their way. Read on and find out if they can save their mom.

"Swim Team" by Johnnie Christmas is a graphic novel about a girl named Bree who just moved to Florida. Bree is very thrilled for the first day at her new school, Enith Brigitha Middle School, but joined the only elective that fits her schedule, Swim 101. She detests swimming and even worse, everyone else can swim except her. She hates that she can't swim, and her neighbor, Ms. Etta, begins to give her swimming lessons. Surprisingly, she makes the team and she gets better each day. See what consequences she faces. Overall, this book is fun and an easy read. I didn't like graphic novels, but "Swim Team" changed my mind.

When Alex and Conner Baliey realize that the Masked Man is their terrible Uncle Lloyd, he starts recruiting literary characters like the Wicked Witch Of The West, Captain Hook, and the Queen Of Hearts to form an army. The fairy tale world has to survive Lloyd's attack again after being weakend by the Grande Armee! But, Conner has a plan of his own to defeat all the villains.

Harbor Me

Harbor me by Jacqueline Woodson is a fiction book. The book was mainly about the narrator of the story, Haley, and her discussions with her friends. As part of a special class, Haley and her six classmates go to the ARTT (A Room To Talk) room every Friday to talk amongst themselves (without a teacher). At first, all the children have no idea what to talk about in the room. However, as time goes on, they start to open up about their lives and the many problems in the world. Talking with each other helped the children feel better about their own problems and even make new friends. Personally, I would rate this book a four out of five because the book itself was very meaningful and thoughtful but I think that it was a pretty slow book in comparison to other books that I have read before.
 
 

Lu

Lu by Jason Reynolds is the last book in the track series. Personally, I thought that this book was second best (after the first book, Ghost). This book was mainly about Lu and his different points of views of the track team, the coach and the big secret that his dad is keeping. I really enjoyed reading this book because of its twists and turns. Also it was very interesting to see how characters that Lu thought he knew show a totally different side of themselves outside of school or outside the track.
 
 

Sunny

Sunny by Jason Reynolds is a realistic fiction. The book is mainly about Sunny and his life on and outside of track. Sunny was one of the best long-distance runners on the track team but didn't enjoy running anymore so he decided to try the discus instead. This book is the third book in the track series and was written as a diary. Personally, I would rate this book a 4 out of 5 because it focused more on Sunny's thoughts than what actually happened.

Eight Times Up by John Corr is a fiction. The book is about Riley trying out a new sport, aikido. Aikido is a Japanese martial arts. He tries out aikido in hope of controlling his emotions better and to have less anxiety in his life. Even though Riley faces many difficulties during this new sport, he finds out many important things also. Riley's aikido experience gives out a special message to all.
